About the tutor

Helena has an abundance of experience in the beauty industry, specifically working as a freelance Professional Make-up Artist from 2001 working on TV, with Sync Films, Editorial such as Company Magazine and various catwalk shows.

Helena’s career in beauty progressed further in 2008 when she qualified in Level 2 Beauty Therapy as a learner with Debut, followed by Level 3 Beauty in 2001. She worked for 18 months at Greenwoods Spa before gaining the position of Tutor with Debut in May 2013. Her Industry knowledge is underpinned by Elemis, Bare Minerals, Airbase, Voya & Jessica brand training.

Helena’s personal development included gaining qualifications in Level 3 Assessing; Level 4 Certificate in Quality Assurance and Level 5 DTLLs. Her high quality standards and knowledge of teaching delivery has been advantageous and key in her role as Head of Teaching & Learning and mentoring our tutors. Helena became Head of Apprenticeships in 2015 and her role involves building solid relationships with Salon Owners within Essex. She has an aptitude for matching apprentices’ range of skills with salons and oversees our Tutors so that apprentices are nurtured on and off the job whilst on programme to ensure job sustainability.

Helena’s additional roles of Head of Quality Assurance and T&L safeguards delivery standards across the centre via moderating processes. Another important role Helena holds is safeguarding Officer for all learners, apprentices, staff and visitors. Helena has recently started studying towards a CMI Level 5 Leadership & Management and hopes to gain this qualification by the end of 2018.
