What makes me, me?

I am a driven lecturer I love the beauty industry, I have being in this industry for the past 36 years having run my own very successful business, I have taught for over 20 years. With so much experience I enjoy passing my extensive understanding and great depth of knowledge to up and coming therapist. (I am a CIBTAC, ITEC, CIDESCO qualified therapist)

Tell me about your role at CPBA. What does a typical day look like for you?

I have taught at CPBA for the past 3 years which I am enjoying, a typical day would be I arrive around 8.15am prepare for the day, e.g. get the salon ready for the learners, whether it is practical, theory or exams. I am in the salon all day and leave around 5pm

What's the standout highlight of your experience working at CPBA?

When my learners take their online exams and pass is always amazing, however when they go into the industry and get good jobs that is the most rewarding feeling that I have supported someone to open new doors in their life, and there have being many. Currently I am teaching a group who are due to complete sometime in November 2023, and 3 are working in a high-end spa, in London.

What skills do you bring to the table in your job?

I am a highly experience therapist, having worked in salons, spas, owned my own salon, taught in FE collages, private collages, set up in 2 secondary schools, the hair and beauty department and teaching year 9 set up the VTCT, GCSE programme with a great deal of success.

When you're not working, what activities or hobbies do you enjoy most?

I love cooking and baking, having dinner parties. Gardening and helping my husband on our allotment. Visiting interesting and unusual countries e.g. Borneo Most importantly spending quality time with my family.
