The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing (QCF) is a technical level qualification for learners seeking a career as an employed and/or self-employed hairdresser/stylist. This qualification is based on Hairdressing National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognised by the UK’s lead hairdressing professional association (The Hairdressing Council) as being fit for purpose for preparing learners for a career as a senior hairdresser/stylist. Learners should hold a Level 2 qualification in hairdressing prior to undertaking this qualification.
Entry requirements
You will need:
- A good standard of the English language to allow for study and competence of the on line examinations
- Applicants should be aged 19 or over at the start of this course.
- A satisfactory reference
- Level 2 qualification in hairdressing prior to undertaking this qualification.
Course content
This course will cover:
The qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as an advanced hairdresser/stylist including: health and safety; client consultation; advanced cutting; styling and colouring techniques and; selling products and services to clients. These units are all mandatory.
Students will need to provide a model for practical assessments. Students will also be required to build a portfolio of evidence.
Duration and Delivery
This is a 17 weeks course delivered part-time (2.5 days a week) to fit your life.
Assessment methods
Theory exams are via on line assessments (ICT based). Practical based assessments.
Further study and career options
Learners who complete this qualification are eligible to become a State Registered Hairdresser (SRH) with The Hairdressing Council.
