Spring 2022 Makeup Trends

The great thing about the end of winter is the arrival of spring. And this means you can try spring makeup looks. The good news is that you can choose from a lot of makeup looks to try this spring. In this article, we are going to talk about 7 spring 2022 makeup trends.

  1. Statement blush

Usually, blush is an accent, which involves brightening complexions and sculpting cheekbones. But it may also appear on the eyes and temples. You can wear a wash of bright colour all over your cheek, marking this spring as the season of blush.

You may also try a cream blush, starting with a dab and building from there.

  1. The New Neons

Quannah Chasinghorse wore fluorescent eye shadow, which looked amazing. The advantage of these eyeshadows is that they are quite pigmented. So you may use them as an eyeshadow or eyeliner brush to get bright lines.

  1. Glossy Lips

Glossy lips have made a comeback after the 2000s. So, you can try your favourite colour and lip gloss. Those shiny lips will make you look gorgeous.

  1. Embellished Eyes

Although you are free to use a concealer, you may not need it when you have those crystals around your under eyes. So, you can try a few embellished eyes makeup looks to see which one looks best on you.

So, you can try out these makeup trends this spring.

What Skills Do You Need To Be A Makeup Artist?

Becoming a makeup artist in the United Kingdom demands some serious dedication, hardworking skills, networking skills, and focus. Nevertheless, the most critical aspect of being a makeup artist is the oodles of vision and creativity. If you have vision and creativity, you can achieve a lot of things in this field.

Also, there are other aspects as well, other than makeup skills, that make a complete makeup artist. Having the right set of skills will bring new opportunities and move you further in this career.

If you think you have what it takes to be a makeup artist, then evaluate yourself based on the following skills that an experienced and well-paid makeup artist boasts.

1. Communication Skills

First things first, even before your client sits on the chair for the service, you need to establish proper communication with them. It is the key to attracting and booking a client and retaining them forever. Most importantly, they will appreciate it if you talk to them while applying makeup because they would love to know what you are doing on their hair or face.

2. Working Under Pressure

Whether you are working an event, performance, shoot, or fashion show, you have to be prepared all the time. Else, the nerve-wracking pressure will consume you.

3. Time Management

This is the most important skill a makeup artist must-have. Managing time and clients can be daunting. You may have to attend to several clients in a day. How you do it without upsetting them is your skill.

Finally, a good makeup artist doesn’t just have the knowledge of cosmetic products, tools, and their application. But they also have sharp attention to detail. With these skills, you will be able to emerge as a celebrated professional in your field.

Can You Do People’s Makeup without a License?

If you are operating from your own premises, then some governing bodies will need you to register with them. So yes, you will need a license to do people’s makeup. They do this to ensure that you follow safe practices and that your premise is safe. This won’t be much of a problem because if you are conducting a salon business professionally, your salon will be safe anyway. For this, you will need to provide specific documentation, like the certificate of registration. You may have to pay a certain fee to cover the inspection of the local council.

But, you should know that if you work as a freelancer in the United Kingdom, there aren’t any countrywide licensing requirements.

You can determine whether you can do people’s makeup without a license by speaking to your local council. The council may ask you to present public liability insurance before they can grant you a license. Again, if you are running the premise professionally, you may already have all the paperwork required that states you are doing business legally. Also, depending on your activities, you may need other licenses as well.

Why do you need a license?

A license ensures that you have been recognized by the council as a safe practitioner. Your practices won’t do any harm to the general public who comes to you for makeup services. Also, it covers any kind of treatment risks involved. So, before you start working as a professional, get approval from the council.

Can You Be a Self-taught Makeup Artist?

When we talk about self-taught makeup artists, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? For many, self-taught means they have learned the art from the internet by following makeup tutorials and influencers on social media. Those who have learnt from watching makeup tutorials and videos are often considered as copycats until or unless they understand the basics of makeup. Merely doing what others are doing isn’t learning. You have to get your basics clear about being a makeup artist.

Yes, you can be a self-taught makeup artist, but there’s a catch. Makeup is an art that consists of hundreds and thousands of techniques. Professional and experienced makeup artists know how to use and combine these techniques to highlight the unique features of their clients. Now, following the step-by-step process of the tutorial and decently implementing it doesn’t make you a makeup artist. A true makeup artist never copies others’ work. Yes, you can look up to them for inspiration.

So, if you want to be a self-taught makeup artist, the first thing you should do is get the basics cleared. Learn how to use different makeup tools and kits, how to apply various cosmetics, and how to choose the right cosmetic product for a particular individual.

You should read books and try to improve your techniques with the help of established masters. Only look up to online video tutorials for reference. A self-taught makeup artist is someone who asks a lot of questions and tries out different ways of applying makeup.

Being a makeup artist is a role that demands an individual to be endlessly creative and adaptable and enthusiastic. 1. Never Ending (Fun) Process Of Learning

Usually, people who are good with drawing, coloring, or even cooking are ideal candidates for exploring in the beauty field! Are you someone who is drawn to fashion? Usually, all of these creative tasks and fields can help you become a hairdresser, makeup artist, or a nail specialist. If you are skilled in something similar to these activities, make sure you keep on learning and always push through! Nowadays almost anyone can become a beauty guru or a beauty specialist/influencer, you just have to be willing to learn every day, and try to be better than the day before!

  1. A Huge Variety

A huge variety, as previously said, allows you to experiment in many different beauty fields till you find the one which suits you completely! When working on other people, you get to play with so many different face shapes, skin types, as well as textures. This is why it is important to find your fortee! If one field fails and you dislike doing, let’s say, baby highlights on your clients, you can still go back to doing cuts, as well as blowouts! Nowadays beauty creators can choose their headed path, and can perform their magic without doing the ”full thing”. This rule usually applies to bigger salons where you can find 2-3 hairdressers that are all in charge of different things. The same rule applies to let’s say a therapist: where one can only do massages, while the other one works on paraffin waxes etc.

  1. You’re Always With People

If you are a people person, you will definitely enjoy working in beauty sectors! No matter the position that you play, you will meet new people daily. Constantly meeting people and working with different age groups, skin types, genders, as well as on different tasks will allow you to learn new skills, and to develop a better skillset! Also, this will help you keep things fresh, exciting, but at the same time – challenging. Nothing is worse than being stuck at your job office with the same group of people that you already know, as well as going to business meetings and losing your temper while discussing tricky subjects. This also applies to typing on your computer, replying to emails etc.

  1. Freedom

Lastly, if you are a freelancer, you will have all the freedom in the world! You can choose your preferred work location, and you can control your day! You are in charge of your holidays and vacation, as well as your overtime work! You will also choose your working hours. Are you someone who wants to work from 9-5? Or maybe you want to work on the weekends? The choice is entirely up to you!

PS: Those who end up working at a beauty salon may work the typical shift, but they will have their weekends off! Unfortunately, you might not have your Christmas or other holidays off, but you will get a bonus due to heavy traffic during these special days and special events!

How To Do NYE Party Makeup Looks

If you need inspiration for this NYE glam, we will present the top three most-popular looks. In December, a lot of women will be wearing red lipsticks, as well as golden shadows. However, how about you put these two looks aside and do them only for Christmas? NYE demands a different approach, as well as bolder and different looks, like the following ones:

  1. Glitter Cut Crease

A glitter cut-crease is perfect for women who love dramatic looks. If you are planning on wearing a sequin dress – pair it along with a bright glittery eye! This makeup can be worn by anyone, and it will take you around 60 minutes to achieve this glam.

Glitter Smokey Eyes With Nude Lipgloss #glitterpromlook #nudelips Are you searching for the trendiest prom makeup ideas to be the real Prom Queen? We have collected simple natural, dramatic, Hollywood glamour and many other makeup ideas for your inspiration. #prommakeup #makeupideas #glamourmakeup #naturalmakeup Smokey Eye With Glitter, Silver Glitter Eye Makeup, Silver Eyeshadow, Green Smokey Eye, Simple Smokey Eye, Smoky Eye For Blue Eyes, Smokey Eyeshadow, Blue Eyeshadow For Brown Eyes, Brown Matte Lipstick

Always start with your eyes when you are playing around with glitter. Make sure you prep your eyelids with either a concealer or with a shadow base.

Apply a brown matte shadow into the crease. Work it upwards with a round fluffy brush. Once the color is blended, cut the crease with a flat brush. Use, yet again, concealer, and carve out the lid to achieve the perfect black canvas – this is where you’ll be placing glitter.

Pack on glitter with a flat brush. Your glitter can be any color (try and match it with the color of your dress). Finish off the look with your mascara or even with your false lashes.

Keep your skin bronzed, as well as glowy. Lip-wise, a nude is always a good choice.

  1. A Pop Of Color

A pop of color is usually a bold statement look, worn and loved by younger women as well as teens. This trend was brought back to the scene this year when Kylie Jenner started to post and enjoy a brighter (yet unusual) pop of color in her inner corner. If you are a fan of quick looks, know that it will take you around 45 minutes to achieve this glam.

You can do your primer & foundation first because the eye portion is simple, and it won’t cause any unwanted mess. Apply your favorite base products with your trusted tools (can be a sponge or a brush).

Since the emphasis is on the pop of color, go for a bright pink or coral blush! This color will suit anyone who is trying to achieve a radiant, youthful, as well as glowy outcome.

Once your base is done, begin doing your eyes. We recommend that you stick with a light beige color on the lid (or any color which suits your skin tone the best). Blend it in with a fluffy brush.

Now, pop a hint of color into your inner corner. This should be a bright shimmery shade (blue, pink, yellow, orange). Make sure you pair up the color with the color of your dress.

Also, go for a statement lip color. Something crazy & vibrant that matches your eyes will be a full strike!

  1. Juicy Red Lips

Lastly, if you like playing around with lipsticks instead of shadows, this makeup look will suit you. If you have bigger lips or you are a fan of red lipstick, make sure you go for this solution out of three. Mature women, as well as those who like quick & easy looks, will easily do this glam, in less than 30 minutes!

Make sure you prime your skin and give it moisture. Those who are planning on spending 5+ hours outside the house during the NYE will need high-quality products.

Spritz your skin with a setting spray after your base is done. A bit of bronzer will suit your look, as well as simple brushed out brows. Women who prefer highlight can stick with this as their go-to instead of a bronzer, or instead of a blush.

Keep your eyeshadow neutral and simple. In fact, you can even apply a matte powder just to set your oils in place! Don’t forget 2 layers of your favorite mascara, and add only a bit of shimmer underneath your brows, as well as in your inner corner.

Lastly, it is time for your lips! Are you a fan of dark red lipsticks, mauves, purples, or burgundy colors? Well, either way, we recommend lining your lips with your favorite lip pencil. After that apply your matte lipstick by sweeping the color on your upper and lower lip. Once this dries down, reach for a mesmerizing gloss! Two layers will give so much life to your lips, as well as shine!

If you love to apply makeup daily, know that our tips will be useful. Makeup is not a ”one size fits all” which is why it is crucial to customize it per your age, skin type & personal preference. Younger women have specific skin which should be nourished & approached differently. So, if you want to maintain the tenderness & a youthful look, you will love some of our tips.

Makeup tips are For Everyone, Just With The Right Application

Makeup isn’t just for hot dates & office wear, nor mature women & brides. Nowadays teens are wearing makeup to school and definitely in college. Teens are quite involved in everything that is happening and are always following the hottest trends while purchasing all the right makeup & skincare products.

If you want to know some makeup tricks which will boost your confidence while not aging you, make sure to read through. Also, try to remember that you don’t have to apply makeup to become someone else. Use it to put your best face forward, and to feel better in your skin.

Top 5 Makeup Tricks For Teens

  1. Your Age

Your skin is probably a lot better than the skin of a 40-year old woman. This is why you won’t need to conceal a lot. Know your limits and only apply makeup as per your age. Also, a dark black smokey eye and a bright red lipstick may look amazing on a runway model, but they may not be an ideal go-to for a teenage girl.

  1. Less Is More

Since your skin is probably normal-oily you won’t need a lot of products. All you could use is a bit of BB or CC cream, or a medium-coverage concealer just to hide some spots. You can apply these products with your fingers and you’ll be left with a radiant, natural & streak-free outcome, perfect for school! Just make sure you don’t apply a hefty amount of setting powder. It can age you, and get into fine lines which you didn’t even know you had.

  1. Use Highlight

Emphasize your prettiest features with a highlight shade. Try to accentuate your cheeks, inner corners, and your brow bone. Add your favorite highlighter by doing tapping motions and apply the product gradually. The best shade is something which is 2-3 shades lighter than your skin tone, and something that is not too beamy on the skin.

  1. High-Quality Products Are Important

You shouldn’t go all-out, especially if you are on a budget. However, what you can do is focus on buying a lot fewer products, but invest in some key pieces. For instance, you can purchase a 3 in 1 base product which can act as an amazing primer, moisturizer & foundation! Being a teen is challenging since you are prone to breakouts, so rather invest in some quality products, especially for your skin & lids.

  1. Learn All Over Again

No one expects you to know everything regarding makeup. It is important to learn as you go, and as you test out new products. Don’t be so hard on yourself if you don’t get it within your first try. Skills are learned through tries & errors, so make sure you have the patience to start over & over again. Lastly, remember to drink a lot of water & eat clean! A proper diet can help your body & skin, so make sure you intake your H20 and stay away from greasy food.

Top 3 Makeup Tips Which Will Allow You To Get A Slimmer Face

Did you know that you can lose 20 pounds just by using some good makeup tips? Sculpting, shaping & contouring your face are just some of the top tricks which every girl should know how to do.

Also, did you know that women who have round faces tend to look a lot younger? If your face is round your probably have defined cheeks, a rounded chin, as well as overall feminine & attractive features. If this sounds like your face & you are trying to slim it down just remember to do these top 3 tricks.

  1. Define Your Brows

Try to define & draw your brows every day with either a brow pencil or a brow pomade. By doing an angled brow it can actually open up your face & gives it dimension. Fill in your brows and shape them with your favorite brow product. Make sure your brow pencil or pomade is the same color as your hair, or only one shade lighter. It is also vital to add a bit of highlighter underneath the brow to give it some shine. This way the brow which is a dark shadow will look beautiful once placed next to a contrasted lighter color.

  1. Use A Lot Of Bronzer & Contour

Bronzer gives warmth to the skin. It also makes you a bit thinner as well as a lot more radiant. You can apply it to the edges of your face to get a seamless shadow. Apply it in circular motions onto your cheeks, chin & forehead.

Contour-wise, you can use a muted brown or a light gray to bring back dimension. Do the infamous ”3” color placement on the sides of your face (on the outer part of your forehead, over your cheeks, and below your jaw). The contour ”sucks” everything in while your bronzer brings back the shine & doesn’t wash you out.

  1. Don’t Forget Your Lips Either

Use either matte or shimmery lipsticks to bring back life & color to your lips. Your lips can also take away the attention from a chubby or round-shaped head. You should use some darker lipsticks such as brown, red, or burgundy because these will emphasize your teeth & your smile.

Apply the product by doing tapping motions just so you are left with the most pigment. Reapply when needed and enjoy your sculpted look!

How Generation Z Created A Whole New Trend In The Makeup Industry

Makeup Industry Is A Fast-Growing Business Many young people nowadays are finding their inspiration through Instagram or YouTube videos & tutorials. For most of them, their idols are James Charles who has 16 million subscribers. After him comes Jeffree Star with 15 million, and then comes NikkieTutorails with 13 million subscribers. The beauty industry is a fast-growing business. The U.K. beauty & personal care market was valued at £10.2bn in 2018. Usually, women that are in their 16-24 spend 30% more than they used to do a year ago. Nowadays almost everyone is shopping at Morphe or beauty bay, and everyone has access to makeup, which wasn’t the cause 5-10 years ago. If you have some pocket money and access to YouTube, you will probably get inspired to create at one point.

Milly Provenzano is a Gen-Z 16-year-old makeup artist who just can’t stop creating. She loves to create rainbow inspired looks, and she sees true beauty in pretty much everything. Provenzano has several different photographs in her room that inspire her to go onwards. She is also very active on Instagram where she follows all of her makeup industry idols. She says that’s where you can learn a lot from drag queens since they aren’t shy with their work nor appearance. Besides them, she also loves Antoinette Mahr.

When being interviewed and asked by a journalist how she can allow herself to spend several hours every day just to do makeup, Milly responded in a very grown-up way. She said that it’s like comparing someone who loves to do A-level art and asking them why they like to do it. Painting, coloring, doing makeup or drag are in the same line of professions to her. Makeup to her is just like art, but you get to do it on your face.

Milly is trying to do as many colorful and unique looks each day. She says that it is a bit strange being as expressive & creative when you live in a little village in Northamptonshire. She never spots people wearing rainbow-colored eyes, or rocking drag makeup. One day Milly would love to become a makeup artist for fashion shows. She dreams of going to London & Milan. This just proves that Gen-Z does dream quite big.

Makeup Is A Skill

A 17-year old from Manchester Aiman Sheeraz says that makeup is a skill which you need to master. Her favorite & most demanding part is learing how to blend. Aiman got into makeup industry because she used to watch bridal makeup tutorials, but she would also love to see her mom apply makeup. Her mom passed away a couple of months ago, but Aiman continued to do looks on her family members. Soon she started to post them online and that’s when her hobby became her full-time job.

Thus far she noticed that she usually works with two different types of clients. First off there are those who love the hot sculpted trends which have been invented by the Kardashians & Jenners. On the other hand, some people love a softer ”Asian glam”. This look is consistent out of a glowy base, soft skin, beautiful lips & bold eyes.

But It Can Still Get Pretty Colorful

Niamh Dunne is a 19-year old worker from Northamptonshire who finds inspiration in TV shows. The Lion King and Stranger Things are two major inspirations for teens nowadays, where youngsters transform themselves into their favorite characters.

Many people love to critique this and state that they should focus on their careers & school. However, those are usually older generations (and not the open-minded Gen-Z’s) who are not aware of the success and exposure which you can get through Instagram.

The best example is Kylie Jenner who created a billion-dollar industry with her cosmetics line. Did you know that she is on the Forbes list as well? Out of 80 women who were listed & claimed to be self-made rich in the last year, 10 of them came from the skincare & makeup industry.

How Does Makeup Affect Their Self-Image?

Some parents are worried that makeup can have an impact on their children’s appearance & self-esteem. However, Sheeraz is actually almost always bare-faced. Many Gen-Z’s do their makeup only for pictures, photoshoots, and their personal playtime. Not a lot of them walk out wearing Lion King orange & whisker inspired looks.

Makeup Is For Everyone

Nowadays brands like Makeup and Fluide are coming out with a genderless cosmetic set of products. Not only them but legendary brands such as Chanel & Givenchy have also launched the male lines. Boys are definitely not excluded from wearing makeup. One of them is the 17-year-old Matt Tierney.

He confessed in one of his interviews that he tried to get his mom to buy him makeup. He told her that he was off to Halloween party when he was 14. She saw right through him and knew that he wouldn’t wear it only for Halloween, but that soon it would become a full-time thing. Tierney had the confidence to film himself and post his videos online. Nowadays he explores & loves to do makeup. One of his current goals is to get 100k followers on Instagram since he believes that this is a huge accomplishment.

Finding Trustworthy Influencers Is Hard

Many people are questioning decisions & reviews that their favorite influencers do. This is because often things are sponsored and presented in way better light than they are. Luckily in the US, the Federal Trade Commission said that every pair promotion needs to be disclosed by the brand. This is why nowadays you also see that ”paid partnership” section on Instagram.

Some beauty and makeup industry gurus & vloggers get free products which they get to keep. In return, they usually do a 20-second review of the product on their IG story. Sheeraz herself estimates that she had spent around £1,000 on her favorite products thus far. She says that she doesn’t mind investing in her makeup items and that she’d rather be doing this than drinking & partying with her peers.

You Have To Build Your Kit

In order to pursue your dream career you have to invest in it. You are a lot like Picasso where you are using brushes, contour kits, ring lights, and any other much-needed items such as glue & gems for creating some special makeup looks. Teenagers don’t mind expressing their style through makeup, and they don’t think of it as a hobby. It is a way of creating, expressing, and having fun with yourself. The sooner the people around them realize that it isn’t as serious to wear a ”full beat” the sooner they will get to admire their bold looks.
